Founded in 2004, artis is a private non-profit organization that supports Israeli contemporary artists and creates opportunities to develop dialogue and exposure for their work. Based in New York and Tel Aviv, artis provides a portal to the discovery of Israel's cultural developments by highlighting the best Israeli exhibitions, performances, projects, and events throughout the world.

As Tel Aviv approaches its 100th anniversary, ArtTLV launches the first city-wide international contemporary art event. The month-long project brings together international and Israeli artists and curators with Tel Aviv’s bourgeoning contemporary art scene, Bauhaus architecture, and cosmopolitan culture.

Jewish Museum
On August 1, 2007, artis hosted a private tour for the MoMA Junior Associates of Dateline Israel: New Photography and Video Art at New York's Jewish Museum. Comprised of 48 works by 23 artists, the show reflects Israel's emergence as a subject of widening interest among Israeli and international artists alike. Led by Jewish Museum curator Susan Landau and participating artists Gillian Laub and Yaron Leshem.
